Our work alongside the ever-stylish Maxine Wylde began when she was looking to frame a few artworks that she had been collecting.

New to the custom framing experience, Maxine loved the options available, from frame styles, mat board colours and glass choices. We tailored each frame design to complete Maxine's artworks and capture her unique sense of style, and love of colour.

Maxine's colourful, elegant and fun personal style has made her a fashion icon on Instagram and TikTok, with a combined following of over 530k across the two platforms. Maxine shares artfully created fashion and beauty content, and with her interior design background, her colour-filled apartment has created a huge stir amongst her audience and the design community.

The mood and style of an artwork is hugely enhanced with quality custom framing. For Maxine, selecting harmonising colour combinations came naturally and was such a fun part of the process.

As Maxine's art collection grew, she fell in love with the idea of creating a gallery wall and we are thrilled to share the result! An art gallery wall can be created with a uniformed look of similar art subjects, sizing and framing, but for Maxine's varying range of artists' works, a gallery wall with diverse sizes and frame designs, creates a statement feature in her hallway.

We were delighted to chat to Maxine about her interiors, art and fashion influences.

Where do you like to begin when sourcing and decorating your interiors?

When starting, I always LOVE to do a scroll through Pinterest and make a mood board - trying to narrow down the look and feel of what I’m trying to recreate in my space!

I then love going to Instagram and finding beautiful small Melbourne/Australian makers who are creating pieces in a similar style!

There are some incredible, talented Aussie makers and I’m so proud to say that 90% of my apartment is furnished with their pieces!

How does art and colour influence your personal style?

I think both art and colour have always had a huge impact on the way I feel and express emotion. My two favourite subjects in school were music & art, both allowing me to express what I felt at the time. The same goes for fashion and interiors, they are an extension of that self expression. I am a very visual person so I love to project what I am feeling outwards - whether that’s in what I wear, or what I am surrounded by. The colour that I dress in and inject into my apartment brings me so much joy everyday!

We’d love you to share your experience of creating unique frame designs when custom framing your art collection with FRAMING TO A T.

My experience was absolutely heavenly from start to finish! I had the most fun trialling all of the different combinations and coming up with the perfect colour & framing duo for all of the individual artworks! Cath & Annie were so helpful, are incredibly talented at what they do, and truly are a dream to work with!

You have such a fun style in your fashion and interiors, tell us about the kind of art that you love!

I love art that is fun, bold and a little bit different! I love it when an artwork pulls you in and is not necessarily so obvious, but allows you to delve into it and dream up your own interpretation of what the artist was trying to convey in their work!

Who, or where do you look to for inspiration for your creative work?

I look everywhere! I love Pinterest, magazines, art, high fashion photo shoots, music and the people around me!

Can you share some of the artists that you are loving at the moment?

I am loving the work coming from Henryk Studio! The texture and bold colours are EVERYTHING!! I need one for my beautiful FRAMING TO A T gallery wall asap!!

I’m also loving the 3D motion art from incredibly talented Melbourne artist Mikaela Stafford!

If you'd like to find out more about creating a gallery wall for your own home or creative space, get in touch or visit one of our three locations for quality custom framing in Melbourne.
